I know, I know… microwave popcorn isn’t exactly blog post worthy lol. But I feel like I’ve been living under a rock to have not known this. I have a secret… you can pop popcorn kernels in your microwave, not only with those bags full of butter and oil. If you have a glass bowl, a ceramic plate and popcorn kernels… you can have popcorn ๐
I tried this one out yesterday afternoon and it worked well!
Put 1/4 cup of kernels in the bottom of a glass bowl.
Top with a plate… I have 2 here because my plates are really thin.
Microwave for 4-6 minutes, or however long it takes for the kernels to pop. Be careful when taking it out of the microwave, it will be very hot! Toss the popcorn with some melted butter or whatever toppings you prefer. ENJOY!!

LOVE this!! I tried it in a paper bag once and it didn’t work out so well. The bowl and plate are perfect!!!

I think this is a great post! If you didn’t know, how many other people don’t know? You are saving us a lot of oil, and salt and who knows what else that goo is in those packets!

Thank you!! That’s what I was thinking… I mean sure microwave bags are convenient, but I don’t even want to know what’s in them! Plus, kernels are way cheaper than microwave bags, at least around here ๐
