Start your morning off right with a nutritious and delicious strawberry basil smoothie! Made with 6 simple ingredients, youโll love how easy it is to make!
Are you a smoothie lover? Honestly, Iโve tried some that I reallllllly didnโt like. One thing I DO really like though, is almond milk! I always have a half gallon of either almond or cashew milk in my fridge. I donโt have any dietary restrictions, but I know some folks do, so I love that this smoothie is dairy-free, not to mention uses only 6 simple ingredients.

While this smoothie is great for breakfast, I like it as a mid-afternoon snack or even a nutritious dessert!
Basil is one of my favorite herbs, and thankfully one of the few Iโve been able to successfully grow. I have whatever the opposite of a green thumb would be, (purple thumb? Red thumb?) and tend to inadvertently kill off just about any plant in my house. Sigh. Maybe one day Iโll be able to handle it lol.
The sweetness of the fresh strawberries combined with the slightly peppery and anise-like flavor of the fresh basil just pair so wonderfully together!
I didnโt add too many basil leaves to the smoothie, as I wanted to keep the pretty pink color, but feel free to add as much as youโd like.
This smoothie uses Silk Almond Milk, which is my favorite of all the many almond milk varieties out there. Itโs a delicious non-dairy milk, with 50% more calcium than dairy milk, and absolutely no cholesterol and no saturated fat.
I also utilized a new Silk product, a non-dairy yogurt. Packed with 6 grams of soy protein, no artificial flavors or colors, and a smooth creamy tasteโฆ I know youโll love it! Itโs great by itself, but I really like the creaminess it adds to the smoothie.
Making this smoothie is as easy as chopping up the strawberries and basil, adding everything to your blender and blending until smooth! Easy peasy! Perfect for those mornings youโre in a hurry, or for a quick breakfast on the way to school.
This recipe makes enough for 2 16oz servings, so feel free to double it if youโre making it for your whole family.

Yum! I love this idea. Iโve added basil to strawberry lemonade before, so Iโm sure these flavors work well. And, this smoothie is perfect for the heat wave we were in this week in Boston.
